Joint Alumni Reunion Set 2/10

Saranac Lake – North Country Community College joins with the Saranac Lake community in extending its congratulations to the Roedel family on reopening the newly restored Hotel Saranac.

Alumni of both North Country Community College and Paul Smith’s College, which owned and operated the hotel from 1961 to 2006, are invited to see the hotel’s renovation in person at an alumni reception Saturday, Feb. 10 from 10 a.m. to noon, prior to the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival Gala Parade. Please note Hotel Saranac parking garage is for lodging guests.

The college has a long history with and connection to the iconic Main Street hotel. It was the site of NCCC’s first Board of Trustees meeting in February 1967 and has hosted countless college meetings, dances, reunions, celebrations and other events over the years.

“On behalf of North Country Community College, I’d like to thank the Roedel family for their dedication and commitment to bringing this Adirondack and Saranac Lake institution back to life,” said college President Dr. Steve Tyrell. “The Hotel Saranac has been an economic anchor and social hub for the village for decades, and the college is excited to see it reassume that prominence. We look forward to it once again being a gathering place for North Country Community College and the community, and a destination for visitors from all over the world.”
