Students at North Country receive a very special academic experience. Here you’ll find:
Strong connections with faculty. Our award-winning faculty are easily accessible, well trained in their fields of study, and ready to advise students on both career opportunities and transferring to four-year colleges and universities.
Opportunities to learn by doing. Whether in a clinical setting or a lab, through an internship, or as part of the classroom experience, North Country students use hands-on experiences to develop a passion for their chosen fields and prepare well for the workforce.
A pathway to a four-year degree. The College has created many formal relationships with four-year colleges for seamless transition into bachelor’s degrees. Click here to read more about our Joint Admissions agreements.
Employability upon graduation. Many of our graduates choose to move directly into the workforce after earning their North Country degrees. Faculty advisors, in conjunction with staff professions in the Office of Campus and Student Life, provide one-on-one and web resources to support students’ job search.
A unique setting in the Adirondack Park. We are the only public institution of higher education within the park boundaries! Where better to study Environmental Science, Sports and Events Management, and Wilderness Recreation Leadership, for example?
A great education at a great price. For students challenged to pay for college, there is no better deal in the North Country region.
North Country Community College is excited about the potential of the new Excelsior program. We look forward to following the details of the program as they emerge and will do everything we can to assure that students who apply for the aid through the State of New York and then are accepted into the program will receive the amount of Excelsior aid they are eligible for based on the criteria that New York State has established. Students can sign up to be informed when the application will be available here.
The College has an open admission policy and students are admitted on a rolling basis. Applicants with a high school diploma or a general equivalency diploma will be admitted to the College. There are certain exceptions in our competitive Allied Health programs – click here to read about those special requirements. Admission to North Country Community College is determined without regard to the applicant’s race, color, creed, national origin, age, sex, disability, sexual orientation or marital status.
